Ed learns that his friends are basically just don't care about his problem. He learns that he can not really talk to his friends about what is going on because they don't really care. They are just lazy and selfish individuals. In a way they think of themselves in a higher manner than they think of everyone else just by how careless they are. The only person with some type of sense out of his friends is Audrey and the town has ran through her. She is the only person that actually cares somewhat about what Ed is saying. Now when it comes to my friends, I see no resemblance. All of my friends are real people, no fakes in my circle. I know who to talk to and who not to talk to. If my friend needs to talk to me then I'm willing to listen because that's what real friends do. Now when it comes to Ed's family it is very distant. His siblings are doing something with themselves and he is just a cab driver. His mom puts him down every chance she gets and listens to the other siblings more than she does him. The things his mom does to him makes him feel so inferior compared to the others. You can tell that she doesn't love her kids equally. Ed doesn't want to say anything about because he doesn't want to cause any problems with his mother but he does feel what she is doing to him. I mean his mom call him "Dickhead Ed" that right there isn't a really motherly act. His family is truly distant when it comes to him. The doorman is important because the doorman is important to Ed. The doorman is basically Ed's best friend. If Ed didn't have the doorman he would be alone if he didn't have his so-called friends around. Without the doorman Ed would be so much more secluded.
