I am the Messenger Blog#1 Ashley Enloe

When Ed receives a card in the mail, he figured it might be one of his friends playing a joke on him. Ed tries to build up courage to ask them, Marv says he is not the smart to do something like that, Richie says that it would be too much work for him to do that, Audrey says that she could have done it, but she did not do it though. Ed learns that none of his friends care except Audrey because she wants to help him solve the problem if she can. He was expecting to get their advice on what to do about the card and none of them gave him the right answer that he wanted to hear. I have a connection with Ed and his friends because I always try and ask for advice and a lot of them do not give the best advice or they just ignore me and tell me I should just figure it out on my own.
Ed's dad was a deadbeat because he was never around, he was always out drinking and if not that he was working. Ed's dad died from his liver giving out on him at work, it was probably because of all the alcohol that was in his system. Ed's mom is always calling him bad names, she is not proud of him at all like she is with her other kids because they are more successful than he has become. When Ed was on the newspaper of the robbery that happened she was proud of what her son did. Ed's family will probably never be there to evolve in his life because they are never proud of what he has become. so far from what I read he will probably be left out of everything that happens. I do not think his family will support his decisions because they will probably think it is not the right thing to do. I think the doorman is an important element because he is always going to be there for Ed when his friends are not there. Ed and the doorman have there own conversations and the doorman supports Ed and will always be by his side in the good and bad times. The doorman gets treated like a real person and he is more like Ed's best friend and will always be.
