My friend, a new friend, came in to
town from Lawrence. Her name is Stephanie. Who introduce us was her cousin,
Steven, who is my best friend. This is her first year of college at KU, she
comes visits her cousin almost every weekend and since I live just down the
street from him we all hang out. When she comes back into town she brings bags
of clothes that needs to be washed. I asked one day if they had washers where
she stays at in the dorm rooms, they told me they did but it costs money. Just
last week she came over to spend time with us and the rest of her family. She
was in need of a charger for her phone because the one she had broke. She
didn’t have any money at all and she doesn’t have a job. So I thought id be
nice and give her some money for the charger and anything else she needed to
buy for herself. I told her I knew how it felt to be in her situation to not have
money for anything that I need. I gave her 50 dollars and the charger only cost
10, she really did appreciate it and because of that I know we got closer and
grew trust into our friendship. Growing up I didn’t have anything! My mom
bought what she could for me and as soon as I got to the age where I could work
she stopped buying things for me and told me I needed to get a job. So that’s
what I did, I don’t spend my money on much; I just put it into the bank to save
up for a car, but when I see there’s someone else who needs it more than I do
then ill give it to them.
