I Am The Messenger-Chemeka Eason

What Ed finds out about his friends is that they are careless about his problems. For instance when he got the card in the mail he tried to get help from his friend but they were to selfish and lazy to even think to help they friend. Out of his three friends only Audrey has sense but, she is too busy sleeping with multiple guys. When Ed tries to tell them something serious, they think everything he does or say is all a joke.  Well I don’t have friends but the friends that I did have I see a HUGE connection. When I needed them at times they would always think it wasn’t serious because it wasn’t there problem to focus on. They thought that since it didn’t have anything to do with them they didn’t have to help resolve my problem or situations.

Ed's family is all spaced out from one another. His siblings are doing something with they lives why he is a cab driver. His mother puts him down ever chance she cans and shows favoritism towards him and his siblings. His mom does things that make him feel like crap. How she treats Ed lets you know that all her kids don’t have love from her equally. Ed doesn't want to mention it to his mother because he don’t want to have issues with his mother. His mother disrespects him when she calls him “Dickhead Ed”, what mother would call they child that? Ed’s family is not there for him when needed because they are all distant.

I think the doorman is very important to Ed. Simply because when Ed needs someone to talk to even though the doorman cant respond he’s there to listen. In my opinion I think that the doorman is important to him because the doorman was past down from his father. His father passed away and this dog is there replacing his dads presences because it belonged to the father. I also think that, well since what we read so far is that the doorman is going to play a big role somewhere in this book saving Ed’s life or helping him save someone else life.
