Robin Hood Project: Philippines cause
-
Jennifer Rutiaga
Around November 9 2013, the Philippines was devastated by a
typhoon category 5 named “Haiyan”. The day after it touched down the typhoon
killed at least 1,000 people in one city alone. Over flooded streets, fallen
trees, poles, houses and dead bodies floating were left in Philippines.
Associations
like heart-to-heart and American Red Cross are doing blood drives, donations
and services to aid the Philippine people. Who are in need of clean water,
food, medicines, blood transfusions, clothing and so much more?
So I went
to the address on the American Red Cross website and gave the address at 1600
Washington Blvd Kansas City, KS. So I couldn’t donate food or clothing unless
it was a community event so I donated money. I only had $35.00 worth my
allowance and I decided to donate it. I know it wasn’t a lot of money but hey
what do you expect from unemployed teen who lives under parenting money. But I
hope that those $35.00 can help someone some how.
