I Am The Messenger Blog-Tiffany Herrera

What Ed finds out about their friends is that they only care about themselves, they don't really care what Ed has to tell them in anyway. He also finds out that even if Ed tells them something and he is dead serious about it, they think so low of him that they just always think it is a big joke. He finds out that Audrey is something like a hooker that says that she supposedly likes him to much to have a relationship with him let alone sex but the first chance she gets, she's all up on another guy in front of Ed not caring how he must feel. His friends just don't like to listen to him and never do.

Ed's family relationship is also not a very healthy one. His mom is always talking down on him no matter what he does to try to keep her happy. She treats him like a tool and thinks very little of him. She is the one that confirms Ed's thoughts about himself being worthless and just no good at the age of 19. She takes it to the point where she calls him names like "Dickhead Ed." I think as the story develops their relationship will grow to be a fairly better relationship than it is now. While Ed grows mentally and emotionally he will stand up to his mom at some point and she will end up having a little more respect for him.

To me and to a lot of other people apparently, the Doorman is a very important aspect to this story simply because he represents an important part of Ed. He represents Ed's father and how important he was to Ed. He's one of the only people Ed can actually talk to and tell about his experiences and problems. The Doorman is the only one that will listen every time and will never leave him. He's Ed's best friend.

  1. Audrey isn't a "hooker" she's just promiscuous! Do you think she's even "right" for Ed, or does he deserve better?
