II Ed is learning how his friends really are. Ed learned that his friend call him only when they want to chill or play cards. He also learned that his friends don't take him seriously and always thinks he's playing whenever he's saying something serious. Ed learns more about his friends when he receives the first card, he asked all of them what they thought it meant and they kind of just brushed it off and didn't told him nothing about what they think. Audrey is the only one that give Ed a clue of what she thought the card were for, but she wasn't sure about if she was correct or not. I don't think i can relate to him, because when i ask something to my friends like their opinion or something, they're always there for me.
Ed doesn't have a great relationship with his family, his dad was hardly there, and was a drunk. He died while at work from his liver giving out, they found him siting in his car, they thought he was sleeping, but he was dead. You cant tell Ed wish his dad was still there and that he misses him. Ed's mom is always calling him bad names, she is not proud of him at all like she is with her other kids because they are more successful than he has become. I think that Ed's friends and family are alike, because they don't care about Ed they think his dumb and stupid.
I think that the doorman is a really important element to the story, because when Ed need to talk to somebody he always go to doormen, even though he is just a dog, but Ed tread him like a person and he thinks that doorman always listen to him and he give him advise on what to do.
