I am the Messenger Blog #1

Ed is learning from his friends that they are not always there for him. One day Ed receives a card ace of diamonds in the mailbox. He is trying to figure out who send it. First he suspects of he’s friends Marv, Ritchie, and Audrey. And he goes up to them and asks them if they had sent it, they answer him that they are too lazy, and stupid to think about something so creative. Audrey is the only one that is showing interest about it and she tries to help him get a response. Ed realizes that his friends don’t care about him they are telling him to forget about the card and move on. Ed starts to think about all of that and starts to separate more from his friends. He doesn’t go for advice or mention anything about the card to his friends anymore. Yes I do relate to his because we might think that we have a lot of friends but when something bad happens is when you find out who your real friends are. Some friends when I go for advice they are like Audrey they actually to to help me and give me a good advice, but some are like the other two friends they don’t take it serious.
The relationship that Ed has with his family isn’t a good one, his mom always talks down on him and compares him to the rest of his siblings on how they archive something and basically telling him that he is wordless. She insults him, sometimes Ed’s friends are more as a family because they get together and play cards. And his real family they are separate everyone is in there own world. In my opinion I do not think that they will evolve because the mother seems like she is happy with herself and Ed really doesn't care.
Doorman is a very important element of the story because it was past down from his father. Once Ed’s fathers die that is one thing that is a memory to him, Doorman is the only true friend to Ed.
