I Am The Messenger Blog #1 - Jacob Ensley

Ed received an envelope in the mail containing a poker card, which was the ace of diamonds. The card had addresses and times written on it. He had no idea what any of it meant. He looked to his friends in hope for someone knowing something. But no one helped seemed to know anything so he asked if any of them sent it as some type of prank. Everyone gave excuses on why it wouldn't have been them but Audrey said it might have been her, all though they both knew it wasn't her. Through this he found out his friends don't really care about what he has going on aside from them. I can relate to this because I know some friends that won't care about what you have to say or want to do unless it involves benefits for them. Also Ed's mom doesn't treat him the best either. She treats him with a lot of dis respect. She started to act a little different towards him when she saw him in the newspaper stopping the robber but quickly went back to treating him bad when he forgot to get her the coffee table she asked him to pick up. I don't think she'll ever permanently stop treating him bad since he had such potential for school and gave up on it. The doorman doesn't seem to be very important right now but I think something in the future will happen where the doorman ends up saving Ed. I say this because the way he is presented in the book it seems as if he's foreshadowing something.
